GMS organized HCV Testing Workshop for Clinicians
GMS organized a workshop for live HCV testing for clinicians. The workshop was held on 4th March 2016, at Pearl Continental, Rawalpindi. Mr. Ahmed Madain, Application and Training Manager of Cepheid Middle East, conducted the training.
Cepheid’s Xpert HCV Viral Load test delivers results in hours with the simplicity and ease of use of a point-of-care test. It is a very sensitive test for confirmation of infection and monitoring of HCV. Based on the GeneXpert technology, Xpert HCV Viral Load utilizes automated reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) using fluorescence to detect and quantify RNA.
