GMS meets Ministry of Health to promote Xpert HCV Viral Load
Global Marketing Services met with the Ministries of Health Representatives (Punjab, Sindh and KPK) to promote the HCV testing on WHO prequalified Xpert® HCV Viral Load. Mr. Ahmed Ramzy (Marketing Manager, Cepheid Middle East) also joined the session and discussed the value of assay sensitivity to recognize and limit high disease relapse.
GMS has offered GeneXpert system to the Hepatitis Control Program with a proposal to decentralize testing and placing instruments in out stationed districts.
Xpert® HCV Viral Load, performed on GeneXpert® Instrument Systems is designed for the quantitation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA in human serum or plasma (EDTA) from HCV-infected individuals. The test measures HCV RNA levels at baseline and during treatment and can be utilized to predict sustained and non-sustained virological responses to antiviral therapy.
Xpert® HCV Viral Load with GeneXpert® Dx, GeneXpert® Infinity-48s, and GeneXpert® Infinity-80, has also been approved and accepted for the WHO list of prequalified in vitro diagnostics and was listed on 04 April 2017.
