World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day is marked every year on 14th November to increases awareness about diabetes. Diabetes is a disease in which body blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high and the body does not make insulin. Hyperglycemia, or raised blood sugar, is a common effect of uncontrolled diabetes and over time leads to serious damage to many of the body's systems, especially the nerves and blood vessels.

- 463 million adults (1-in-11) were living with diabetes in 2019 The number of people living with diabetes is expected to rise to 578 million by 2030.
