World Hepatitis Day, observed on July 28 every year, aims to raise global awareness of hepatitis — a group of infectious diseases known as Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E — and encourage prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Hepatitis affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide, causing acute and chronic disease and killing close to 1.4 million people every year
Xpert® HCV Viral Load, performed on GeneXpert® Instrument Systems is designed for the quantitation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA in human serum or plasma (EDTA) from HCV-infected individuals. The test measures HCV RNA levels at baseline and during treatment and can be utilized to predict sustained and non-sustained virological responses to antiviral therapy
Xpert® HCV Viral Load, CE marked, has also been approved and accepted for the WHO list of prequalified in vitro diagnostics and was listed on 04 April 2017
